Description
Late WWII Japanese Officer’s Sword Battlefield War Trophy showing heavy wear and use…Unsigned crudely made blade with low quality mounts typical of very late war issued swords…Blade appears to be coated with a dark substance…Leather wrapped wood saya; plain iron tsuba; copper fuchi fitting; brass habaki; leather saya cover snap is intact; saya throat fitting is matching the fuchi, but is iron…There is a possibility this may be one of the so called “Island Swords” made during the war in occupied territories…This is an authentic wartime Japanese sword and is NOT a Seabee sword nor is it a post war copy…An interesting variation of a Japanese Army Officer’s sword.
