Vintage Wade Chastain Engraved Custom Ivory Grip Trench Knife….Mellow two toned engraved polished brass knuckle hilt with beautiful ivory grip panels inlaid with gilt US Army buttons…Impressive 19 inch long knife with intricate jeweled blade embellishment by Master Engraver Wade Chastain…Blade is 13 1/2 inches long and nearly 2 inches wide at the ricasso…A stunning exhibition quality knife of typical Chastain heroic proportions…The photos show if fairly well, but it has to be held and seen to appreciate the actual size and workmanship…Leather sheath was custom made by Gutcher at Sullivan’s in Tampa, Florida.

Wade was from Mills River, NC and died in 2010 at age 64…He made custom knives for over 25 years and to quote one good friend and client of his: “Wade didn’t know how to make a small knife”…He was a true Master Engraver and quit making knives a few years ago to concentrate on higher end gun engraving which is what he did until he died..
