A fine Napoleonic period flint lock pistol with an exquisitely chiseled steel Italian Snaphaunce lock signed and dated 1767 with Juan Peresteva, Ripoll and Barcelona stamped barrel and silver mounts. An exceptional example of a custom assembled French pistol for a Napoleonic era officer or gentleman.

 The snaphaunce lock features no less than ten deeply engraved faces and even the interior lock parts are decorated with two eagle’s heads as well as engraved with the maker’s signature and date. The Spanish barrel is of the highest quailty with deeply struck gold inlaid cartouches of the maker Juan Peresteva. The dark wood stock is fitted with engraved silver mounts.
