Description
U.S. 2nd Model S&W Schofield Revolver .45 Schofield in very fine condition, the action functioning well with tight lockup, U.S. stamped butt, and inspection stamps in various places on the frame. The previous owner had engraved and etched cross hatched designs on the the grips and back strap as illustrated. I have no history with this revolver and can not state why this was done; it may have been intended as functional for extra purchase when handling or purely for decorative effect. In any case the extra embellishment adds a bit of mystery to this pistol.
