Classic WWII BRITISH No. 4 MK 1 (T) .303 SNIPER RIFLE

$4,995.00

Classic WWII BRITISH No. 4 MK 1 (T) .303 SNIPER RIFLE in excellent condition as shown retaining its original factory finish on the metal.

The metal wrist band is stamped M47C 1944; the receiver serial number, the bolt handle serial number, and wood forearm stock stamped serial numbers all match. The TEL STG: No. 32 Mk 2 scope is not serial numbered to the rifle. Optics are clear and very clean.  The bore is very fine with strong rifling.  I have found no import stamps, but will check again, and no transit case or accessories are included. The previous owner had obviously lacquered the wood stock which certainly preserved it well, and that should be easily removed. Other than the lacquered stock there are no known issues.

The British No. 4 Mk I (T) is a World War II–era bolt-action sniper rifle chambered for .303 British. This model was converted from the standard No. 4 service rifle for precision use and fitted with a scope mount and specialized optics. The receiver marking M47C indicates manufacture by BSA Shirley, and the date stamp 1944 places production in the wartime period. The rifle retains its military configuration with wood furniture and blued metal finish typical of the No. 4 series.

Serial numbers on the receiver, bolt handle, and forearm stock are matching. The mounted scope is a Telescope, Sight, No. 32 Mk II type, which is not serial numbered to the rifle. The optical elements are described as clear, and the bore has strong rifling. The wood stock has been lacquered by a previous owner, preserving the surface finish; this coating can be removed if desired. No import marks are noted on the metal components, and no transit case or supplemental accessories are present. Other than the lacquer finish, no issues are reported with the rifle’s physical condition.

Markings include “M47C 1944” on the metal wrist band, consistent with wartime production standards. The rifle is classified as a Curio & Relic firearm under U.S. regulations. Included with the rifle is the No. 32 Mk II scope; no additional accessories, cases, or tools accompany it. The firearm remains in its original sniper configuration with matching numbered components and period-correct finish.
